About Whinyard Rocks
In James's home country of the mid-Wales borders, his great-grandfather purchased a sheep farm in the 1910s. James had the wild idea of planting vines on the family farm while they were living and working in London Susan at a sustainable food and drink startup and James as a scientist. In 2017, they planted their first half acre with friends, and then they moved to Wales to take care of their low-intervention vineyard. They hope to combine a progressive approach to winemaking with a warm embrace of hospitality with Whinyard Rocks boutique holiday cottage in James' rural home's breathtakingly beautiful setting, fueled by a shared love of good food and drink and doing as much as they can themselves. Whinyard Rocks invested a lot of time and effort in renovating Highbrook Cottage in 2020, and their first grapes were harvested.
