Their first beer, Summer 2010, was a bottle conditioned Belgian-style golden ale aged in Sonoma Zinfandel barrels with Sonoma blackberries. The initial batch was sold by hand, one case at a time, out of the trunks of their cars to Bay Area bars and restaurants. Almanac Beer continued brewing and releasing quarterly beers for the next two years because the beer was so well received that in 2013 they quit their day jobs to pursue Almanac full-time.
