Bissell Maple Farm and their family moved to Ohio from Connecticut in the 1830s to help establish the Western Reserve. Dahlias, an apple orchard, and a dairy were all part of the original family farm; The syrup was only for friends and family. Bissell Maple Farm began building their maple business.
