About Brightwood Brewery
Brightwood Brewery, their tap room, have been a dream and a labor of love for a long time. Ian and Matt, the company's founders, met while working as engineers in Halifax, New Brunswick. At that point, Matt had been homebrewing for some time, and Ian was hooked. They started Brightwood Brewery as a result of their hobby developing into such an obsession. Based in Dartmouth, New Brunswick, from the basement of Ian's small house on Brightwood Avenue. A fantastic location for a nano-brewery. They put together a 1BBL (120L) brewing system with a variety of pots, electric heating elements, pumps, and controls after years of planning. They made their first commercial sale in July 2016 at the Alderney Landing Farmers Market in Darmouth, where they sold their beer every Saturday morning in reusable 750 milliliter ceramic growlers and 1. 89 liter glass growlers.
