For more than 30 years, the Tavolieri family has operated pizzerias in Cork. Elio was raised at one of his father's pizzerias on the Grand Parade before he and his brother Antonio launched the wildly successful La Tana on Barrack Street. But Elio wanted to bring the authentic Neapolitan style pizza back to Cork and founded Palmento in the center of Douglas Village after receiving instruction from the best pizzaiolos in Naples. Palmento creates a distinctive selection of traditional and gourmet pizzas by combining fresh Irish ingredients with authentic Italian wood-fired pizzas. Their skilled baristas make a variety of gourmet coffees using locally roasted artisan coffees.
