About The Orange Peel
One of the best venues for concerts in the Southeast is the The Orange Peel. The club has cutting-edge sound and lighting equipment that is uncommon for a club of this size. The beautiful interior of the smoke-free venue makes for a wonderful setting to listen to the best musicians who play there. The residents of Asheville have many happy memories associated with the building on the corner of Biltmore Avenue and Hilliard Avenue. Skateland Rollerdome was the place to be on Saturday nights from 1950 to 1962, hosting numerous Asheville children's birthday parties. The downtown skating rink proved to be the ideal spot for kids to have fun while their parents went shopping at the department stores that used to dominate downtown. Later, a number of R&B and soul clubs were housed in the building. Interestingly, the majority of those clubs' names included colors: orange, jade, and emerald. The Orange Peel gives the best.
