About Quentin Blake
Drawings by Quentin Blake have a loose style that gives the impression that they were made on the spot. However, even a single drawing requires some level of planning and preparation. Quentin Blake is wonderful beyond belief. They are moral, anarchic, endlessly subversive, occasionally violent, socially astute, sparse when necessary, and lavishly extravagant in the details when they feel like it. Without saying a word, they can weave fantastic tales, but their collaboration with Roald Dahl was a match made in literary heaven or somewhere. Only when Dahl wrote for young readers did his devilish brilliance shine. They were accompanied by some sort of alchemy. They have never encountered a kid who did not adore them.
