About Brian Andrew Ceramics
The West Country is full of charm and personality, with everything from village pub life to the wilds of the moors, lush green valleys, clear, snaking river water, and the silver-shining splendour of the ocean beyond its spectacular coves and cliffs. A solid foundation for the creative life of talented country musician Brian Andrew Ceramics. Brian Andrew Ceramics, best known for his Raku-fired animal sculptures, now focuses on Slipware, a more traditional style of country ceramics that he makes of red clay with coloured slips. The larger animal pieces are finished entirely or only partially without glaze, giving them a dry appearance and keeping them closer to the animal. He has been manipulating mud and water for more than 40 years, and he also has a talent for spreading paint on board or canvas in a way that looks good. This gives him the best reason to live a life that maybe many people can only dream of and more materialistic people will never understand.
