About Karl's Cabin
In 1945, farmer Alex Rusceak and his wife Katie began to realize their dreams. On the surrounding farmland and dirt roads, they built a hidden treasure, the rustic tavern of Rusceak. The store serves local farmers riding horses, curious tourists, and local townspeople traveling west along scenic Northern Territory Roads. But shortly after completion, Alex died; let Katie run the hotel. Karl's Cabin became a popular site for touring musicians hoping to tour the country-once hosted a then young singer Johnny Cash. However, over the years, Karl's Cabin has earned some shrewd reputation. Like the pub owner of the Old West, Katie put a shotgun behind the bar to keep her law and order; until she retired, she faithfully offered cold beer and happy hour-and finally sold the tavern in the late 1960s.
