Cass Railroad is a historic mountain rail adventure company founded in 1901. It offers a variety of excursions, ranging from day-long trips into the Monongahela National Forest to shorter sight-seeing trips along the banks of the Greenbrier, Tygarts Valley and Shaver’s Fork rivers. The company is best known for its two-hour Whittaker trip in mid-May, which is pulled by the mighty steam-powered Shays. Cass Railroad also offers an excursion to the top of West Virginia’s third highest peak – Bald Knob.
