Brio Leisure is a community welfare company founded in May 2011. They are a wholly owned subsidiary of Cheshire West and Chester Council (stakeholders) and they are a limited warranty company. Their original four-year contract was terminated in March 2015 and a new 15-year contract term began in April 2015. Brio Leisure was not created for private benefit: any profits or assets were used for the benefit of the community. Any profits or surpluses earned will be reinvested in the company. They aim to benefit all residents of west Cheshire and Chester, as well as those who visit the county. Currently, this includes the provision of leisure centers, recreation halls, courts, health and social services, and the promotion of comprehensive health programmers, including weight management, physical exercise and smoking cessation. They intend to improve the overall well-being of the people who live and visit the area.
