Since establishing his first gallery in Paris in the 1960s, Yvon Lambert has played a significant role in the art world by showcasing the creations of the most avant garde creators. He founded the Lambert Collection in Avignon in 2000, and in 2012 he gave the French government his significant personal collection so it could be displayed in the museum. 2014 saw the closure of their gallery so he could concentrate on the bookshop and his writing endeavors. The current location, designed by Dominique Perrault (dpa), features exhibitions, books, and prints related to art and photography. Yvon Lambert bookstore specializes in limited edition prints, posters, dvds, cds, t shirts, exhibition catalogues, artists' books, rare and out-of-print publications, and art items. In order to concentrate on the bookshop and his publishing activities, they closed his exhibition in 2014.
