Bonsai of Brooklyn was established in 1976. In 1964, while searching for certain houseplants in a neighborhood plant shop, they detected a Dwarf Japanese Juniper bonsai in a five or six inch pot. They were so intrigued by this minuscule marvel that they needed to have it. They started to re-pot and shape trees from neighborhood nurseries into product trees. Their assortment developed from that point quickly. They accomplished some charitable effort at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden where they were sufficiently lucky to work with unbelievable. In the mid seventies, they started to go to swap meets to sell a portion of their excess pieces. That prompted creating bonsai explicitly for re-deal. In the colder time of year of 1975-1976 they concluded that this was a street they needed to investigate further, and Bonsai of Brooklyn was conceived. Throughout the long term the stock developed to incorporate north of 5,000 bits of nursery stock, more than 1,000 pruned items, 4,000 bits of earthenware, north of 80 book titles, and a full line of tools.
