About The Annoyance
The Annoyance has produced some of Chicago's best comedy for more than 35 years. The Annoyance uses improvisation to create new and original plays, musicals, sketch-comedy, and more in a vibrant, creative setting. It is also home to classics like Steamworks the Musical, Shark Tank the Musical, and The Real Live Brady Bunch. Co-ed Prison Sluts is Chicago's longest-running musical. Over 250 shows, including improvisation, sketch, full-length plays, cabaret, and full-length musicals, have been produced by them. A group of them were talking about slasher movies at an Italian restaurant on September 10, 1987. They came up with the crazy idea of putting on a blood show for Halloween, which was a few weeks away, as the conversation went on. Their target date for the opening was October 10, exactly one month in advance.
