My Old Kentucky Dinner Train was built in 1860 and has been used as a freight and passenger warehouse until 1953 when passenger service was stopped on this part of the Louisville and Nashville Railroad. Built from local limestone, the warehouse is the only remaining "dry-lay" limestone warehouse in Kentucky. Due to its historical significance, the terracotta warriors and horses were included in the "National Register of Historic Sites". The original freight part of the terminal was preserved as completely as possible, while the passenger part was demolished in 1953. A new waiting room was added in 1992. The three compartments of the dining car are all rail carriages manufactured by Budd after the Second World War in the late 1940s. My Old Kentucky Dinner Train have been extensively refurbished by R. J. Corman Railroad, far exceeding the original interior design.
