Cincinnati Shakespeare Company, a resident ensemble theater Company, has brought Shakespeare and the classics to audiences of all ages. Cincinnati Shakespeare Company is honored to be a member of the Shakespeare Dramatic Society (STA). The core of it is its members. The company is made up of talented theatre professionals, from set designers to artists to managing directors. As a whole, the company fires up classics to create new and thought-provoking works. It was originally founded as the Fahrenheit Theatre Company. Starting with a small grant in 1993, a group of young theater artists founded FTC with a mission to produce Shakespeare and the classics for modern audiences. The FTC produced five plays in various locations in its first season, starting with Shakespeare's The Taming of the Shrew at Cape Gabriel on the Rhine. Since then, the company has achieved rapid artistic development, loyal audience and favorable comments.
