About Abff
Abff is an annual event that honors black talent and showcases high-quality African-American film and television content. Its founder, Jeff Friday, believes that different artists deserve the same opportunities as mainstream artists. In 1997, he conceived the festival as a vehicle to strengthen the black entertainment community by promoting resource sharing, education and artistic collaboration. After 23 years, the festival has become a cornerstone of diversity in Hollywood, to provide a platform for emerging black artists, many people become the most successful actor, producer, screenwriter, director and stand-up comedian, including Ryan Coogler (panther), the packer (girl) trip, issa Rae (unsafe), Kevin hart (night), large (power) and Stephen Sean Caple Jr.). Abff is the pre-eminent conduit for black artists on the front and rear cameras, and has significantly expanded the pool of talent working in the entertainment industry.
