About River of Lights
Over 700 intricately designed and constructed sculptures, light displays, and millions of twinkling lights can be seen as guests of River of Lights stroll through the abq BioPark Botanic Garden. The New Mexico BioPark Society, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that supports the ABQ BioPark Zoo, Aquarium, Botanic Garden, and Tingley Beach, established in 1997. With 30 rented light displays, they attracted 32, 000 visitors in its first year. With over 130, 000 people attending and over $1 million raised in 2021, the event is now New Mexico's largest holiday light show. The New Mexico BioPark Society's most successful annual fundraiser, they also the most popular holiday destination in Albuquerque. River of Lights preparation is a year-round job, and each year the event shines brighter. Three full-time craftsmen are employed by the New Mexico BioPark Society.
