The sweets were sold at the market twice a week, esther to hollins and Louis to bell. In the mid-1930s, they opened in Lexington market. Over time, Louis invented more recipes, and esther learned to dip her hands into the center of the chocolate, which was smooth and velvety, and mix it together to make each piece of candy satisfying. Many people came to Wilkins avenue to buy candy, so they decided to turn their garage into a store. The grand opening took place in 1950, and today it is their main store. Hollins and bell markets closed a few years later. Louie perfected all recipes that have been left at home now into the 4th generation of Rhebs, and Rhebs continues today with excellent service and value as their most important component.
