Norfolk County Fair, founded in 1840 as the Talbot District Agricultural Society, has a long history of promoting agricultural knowledge and spearheading programs that improve the quality of life for the people of South Western Ontario. Norfolk County Fair is governed by the Horticulture and Agricultural Act (Ontario) and is mostly managed by volunteers who devote countless hours to their numerous charity programs and festivities. The grounds and facilities used by the Norfolk County Fair & Horse Show are owned by the Norfolk County Agricultural Society and are also used for local events throughout the year. The association and its primary yearly event, the highly regarded Norfolk County Fair & Horse Show, have received several awards throughout the years.
