Since 1964, Lakes Athletics has used baseball to teach life skills to kids between the ages of 5 and 18. While having fun as a team, players have learned the principles and regulations of youth baseball. House baseball teams will compete at Shepherd of the Lakes Church and Hickory Glen Park in Commerce Township. In Commerce Township, on Glengary between South Commerce and Benstein, across from Wolverine Lake and the Wolverine Lake Police Headquarters, lies Hickory Glen Park. Between Glengary and Oakley Park on South Commerce, Shepherd of the Lakes Church is just across from Walled Lake Central High School. The baseball grounds in Hickory are shared by the Legends, a travel baseball team for Lakes Athletics.
