About John J Jeffries
John J Jeffries’s Sean Cavanaugh grew up in Pittsburgh with four children and began his restaurant career as a dishwasher after his father died. After high school, Sean attended the prestigious culinary institute of America while still working full-time in the restaurant kitchen. After graduating in 1985, chef Cavanaugh was hired by Marriott. He worked at hotels in Miami, San Diego, New York and Washington, d. c., where he rose to executive chef. The chef then moved on to other chains, such as Hilton, Sheraton and windfarm -- returning to the Marriott as executive chef at one of its flagship hotels, the Marriott resort and spa in vail, Colorado. After two years at Vail, Chef brought his expertise and infectious passion for food back to Pennsylvania, opening John j. Jeffries in downtown Lancaster. John J Jeffries realized his true vision here, not only as a restaurant, but also to cook for the local community.
