About HIPS
HIPS promote the health, rights and dignity of individuals and communities affected by sexual exchange and/or drug use due to choice, coercion, or the environment. They provide compassionate harm reduction services and advocacy and community involvement, respect others, be free of prejudice, and affirm and respect individual power and institutions. HIPS always provide syringe exchange, whether through their check-in center or through outreach vehicle delivery, condom distribution, use of overdose prevention supplies, links to a complete menu of support services, and in a customer-centric harm reduction environment Mental health support in access to housing and drug use treatment. There are multiple support groups including refreshments every day. Customers can come to their center from Monday to Friday to shower and do laundry, enter their closet and connect to the service.
