About Heights Chateau
In 2008, two friends from Pittsburgh, Barry Young and C. Prentiss Orr, created Boyd & Blair's "shop" potato vodka. Heights Chateau opened a winery in a glass factory, where their bottles are produced. Boyd Blair Vodka at Heights Chateau is distilled from high-starch Katahdin varieties and other potatoes from Pennsylvania and is named in honor of partners' relatives. It is, like its counterparts in Eastern Europe, sweeter than cereal vodka, with a surprising vanilla and coffee flavor. All potato starch gives it a particularly creamy mouthfeel, but it also has a bright and luscious back end. Although it is a wonderful fruit-based cocktail, this vodka is smooth and sweet enough for a clean mouthful.
