One of Chicago's pioneering breweries is Half Acre Beer. Since their inception in 2007, they have been making beer in Black River Falls, Wisconsin, hoping that one or two Chicago-area establishments will give them a try. They believed that they could build a brewery with the support of the locals during those early educational days. So, in 2008, Half Acre Beer used sweat and old equipment to build their Lincoln Avenue brewery. In 2009, they first produced Daisy Cutter Pale Ale here. Chicagoans quickly adopted this beer as their own and promoted Half Acre. Rapid progress and lessons emerged. They opened the first-of-its-kind retail shop and taproom, where their brewers and the local beer culture developed a dynamic. They bought 2050 W Balmoral Ave in 2013, which would eventually help usbecome the regional brewery that it is today.
