About Ruby Hill Winery
John Crellin planted vineyards on a red clay knoll in 1885 and gave it the name Ruby Hill Winery after the property's rich red soils. The Crelin's Winery Building, which could produce 125, 000 gallons of wine, was completed in 1887. One of the largest and most renowned wineries in the Livermore Valley by 1889 was Ruby Hill Winery. Currently, eleven varieties are planted on their 150-acre vineyard, including: Zinfandel, Sangiovese, Petite Sirah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Chardonnay, and Sauvignon Blanc. The way they care for their vines is the most important thing. What they put in the ground directly affects the wine that they produce. The vineyard is where they make the decisions that have the greatest impact on their quality. Their certified sustainable estate vineyard is where they cultivate all of the grapes for their wine. They strive to produce exceptional wines, which can only be accomplished with exceptional fruit.
