Hess Persson Estates is known as one of the best family-owned and family run businesses in the wine industry. Hess Persson Estates is committed to pushing boundaries and raising standards in order to produce wines with their own unique character. The Hess Collection on Mount Veeder and the Lions Head Collection in Napa Valley, two of the family's wine brands, produce exceptional, critically acclaimed wines that adhere to environmentally friendly farming and winemaking practices. Donald Hess, a pioneer by nature, was determined to defy convention and pursue winemaking in the Napa Valley at elevation. In 1978, he established the Hess Collection winery on Mount Veeder's steep slopes and started a legacy of luxury winemaking. This collection is an expression of new-generation wines and was influenced by the craft of the winemakers.
