Eight years ago it was on a hike through a coffee farm in Nicaragua and had a crazy idea! It visited its parents in Nicaragua, where they moved in 2007 to work full-time at a nonprofit that they began serving Nicaraguans devastated by Hurricane Mitch. Well Bean is doing some amazing things with health, wellness and community building programs and it has to be involved in some way. In 2012, it saw the hard work of the farmers while walking the farm on a trip, and when it tasted how good their coffee was, the lightbulb went out. It told its husband that it would support coffee production in Nicaragua by importing coffee from that farm into their roastery in Wake Forest, North Carolina, and donating a portion of the proceeds to Well Bean, its parents' nonprofit in Nicaragua.
