In the lovely city of Durham, North Carolina, they operate a modern terrarium and plant craft company. Margaret and Megan George, a mother-daughter pair, invented the The Zen Succulent. Their living landscape designs are a contemporary spin on conventional terrariums that are motivated by their love of urban landscaping, their proximity to nature, and their passion for color. Through the usage of tillandsia air plants, Japanese marimo balls, vivid succulents, and other plants in each of their distinct terrariums, as well as how each inhabits its own terrain, they play with the concepts of nature's three basic components (air, earth, and water). The Zen Succulent, a neighborhood plant & gift boutique in downtown Durham that also contains Margaret & Megan's terrarium & plant craft line and office space, opened its doors on May 1st, 2016. This is their first physical location.
