About The Grand Theater
Harvey H. Blank and Warren E. Fenstermacher opened the The Grand Theater in East Greenville, Pennsylvania, on October 4, 1924. It was built by Jerome S. Landes, an architect from Souderton, Pennsylvania, who also designed and built The Palace Theatre in Quakertown, Pennsylvania, and The Broad Theatre in Souderton, Pennsylvania. The Grand was intended to be the Upper Perkiomen Valley's most beautiful and cutting-edge theater. William W. Bieler built and owned the restaurant in the front right corner of the theater's footprint at the same time that Blank and Fenstermacher built The Grand. Since this was the only concession area in the theater, ice cream and other treats were sold through the lobby window. With 42 years old, The Grand Theater was beginning to show its age by August 1966. Mr. Jack B. Kline and his son.
