After working for a large company for ten years, Tatcha desires the simplicity and authenticity of life. Suffering from acute dermatitis and a keen awareness of the importance of skin ingredients, she began to travel east to find a more evolved and comprehensive beauty approach. On her journey to Kyoto, she discovered a world of sheer beauty, craftsmanship and heritage. The encounter with a modern geisha changed her life. Tatcha's founder learned the secrets of Japanese classical beauty. These secrets have been passed down from generation to generation, using different skin care methods, less is more. This skincare concept and proven ingredients are included in an ancient text widely considered to be Japan's oldest beauty book, and perhaps the first such work.
