To repair and/or prevent squirrel damage to pre-existing lead jack flashings, SquirrelGard was developed. It is a lead jack flashing-equipped protective device for a plumbing vent stack. A lead jack flashing is a weatherproof covering made primarily of lead material that is affixed over a plumbing vent stack permanently. To prevent chewing, teeth sharpening or filing, and damage to the lead jack's waterproofing properties by squirrels, squirrelGard entirely encloses the exposed surface of the lead jack flashing. Shingle replacement is not necessary with squirrelGard. For a full repair, you can place it directly over broken lead jacks. Installing SquirrelGard is quite simple. A hammer, caulk, and spray paint in the color of your roof are all you need. You can avoid spending hundreds of dollars on expensive repairs by completing the process in a matter of minutes.
