In order to improve the technology and comfort of Cowboy Action Shooting rifles and their associated accessories, SliXprings is a joint venture devoted to the invention, design, development, manufacture, and marketing of aftermarket components and systems. Ol' #4, SASS 41004L, and Tillamook Kidd, SASS 65274, founded SliXprings in order to sell a set of replacement side lever springs for Winchester 1860, 1866, and 1873 rifles that were created by them and were far more effective. Later in 2008, they started working on a ground-breaking main spring system that offered a quicker "lock-time" and more reliable primer ignition. Big Iron Buster, SASS 9361L, a third partner, joined the business at this time and contributed his time and money to the final design and development.
