An independent record store called Slide Record Shop opened in Bedford in 2017. They support excellent indie music in a variety of genres. A family business, the shop is run by Warren Alsop, a long-time music lover, vinyl addict, and occasional DJ and his wife Nerys Bannister, fellow music lover and new music obsessive. They are sometimes assisted by the two little Slides, who are pretty useful with a price-gun. All of the new vinyl listed in their shop is purchased either directly from the record label releasing it or from its officially appointed UK distributer. Slide Record Shop currently is only shipping records to customers in the United Kingdom and send them via Royal Mail.
