About Seka Hills
In choosing Seka Hills as the name for their line of premium tribal products, they pay homage to the blue hills overlooking their home in Northern California's Cape Valley. For thousands of years, the ancestors of Seka Hills have lived in the oak forests, rolling hills and grasslands of the Cape Valley, tending to natural resources, following traditional wisdom and forging an eternal bond with the land. Today their tribe is called the Yocha Dehe Wintun Nation, named after their ancestral village, which means "house of springs". As they strive to preserve their language and ancestral heritage, they continue to grow as a people and tend to this fertile valley, home to their culture, history and traditions. Tribes, in all their undertakings, view decisions through good environmental stewardship, honoring the legacy of ancestors who lived as part of the landscape by protecting and maintaining the natural balance in the environment. For thousands of years, Native Americans have lived among the oak forests, rolling hills and grasslands of California's Cape Valley, tending the nation's resources and forging a lasting bond with the land. Today, much of this land is planted with vineyards, olive groves and carefully cultivated rich crops.
