About Scandinavian Art & Design
THE PLOT Local Scandinavian business owners, artists, and other creatives can find a market and community at Scandinavian Art & Design. Ludwig Skalare, the company's founder and a graduate of the Swedish School of Textiles, recognized the availability of genuine locally created goods and essentially brought them to market. The effort to support a new generation of creatives, stamped with challenges and modern times. One inspiration was the dearth of platforms for young creatives. Currently, Scandinavian Art & Design, also known as SAD, has one physical location in the heart of Gothenburg at Södra Larmgatan 7 with an 81 square meter checked marble floor. More than a hundred pieces from up to thirty different artists, businesses, and local Swedish creatives are featured in the store. There are posters, fine art prints, original canvases, and raku products available.
