Save Our Monarchs’s foundation is grassroots 501 (c) 3 nonprofit organization of six families sharing their passion to save monarch butterflies from extinction. They were a practice group, and they got their nails dirty, growing milkweed plants -- the only source of monarch caterpillars. This is the most direct, direct way to save the monarch butterfly. Although planting more milkweed seeds is how they save the monarch, there is a right and wrong way. It is vital to plant milkweed in the right place. That’s why they don't just distribute milkweed; They’re working with other gardeners to make sure the seeds are planted and cared for. Save Our Monarchs’s goal is to send 1,000,000 milkweed seed packs in 2017 through the growing number of people like you who are watching the future of their endangered butterflies in 2017.
