About Friends Of Trees
Friends Of Trees was founded in 1989 by a tree-loving community member and began planting in the Portland community. Today, they are a recognized regional leader in the country, improving urban tree crowns and restoring sensitive natural areas through programs provided by thousands of volunteers. They afforest their area and develop communities at the same time. Friends Of Trees provides an incredible range of city-recognized trees from more than a dozen local wholesale forest farms. You will get a 6-foot-tall tree, deliver, and dig holes, community volunteer planting assistance, coverings, stake, follow-up maintenance and tree care skills. Since they have planted more than 800,000 trees and native plants and thousands of volunteers in more than 120 blocks in six counties of two states.
