In a 1930s barn that had been owned by the Richards family for many years, Gary and Diane Richards opened Richards Farm in December 1976. The barn had been used by Gary's family to keep their animals and grain safe, but it had been abandoned for many years. Gary and Diane decided to use the barn once more after getting married in 1972 and owning the property for themselves. It took two years of careful planning and hard work, which included demolishing numerous surrounding barns to recover the wood and building supplies required to finish the genuine appearance that the owners had in mind. Richards Farm finally opened, with charming, private dining sections called the Corn Crib, the Back Forty, the Feed way, and the Haymow.
