Responsibility to coordinate departmental inserting and press activities with the Packaging Manager and to keep accurate records for daily production documentation and analysis. Making sure that all of the equipment in the packaging department is working properly at all times, including but not limited to the SLS 2000 inserting machines, stackers, strappers, and conveyors; setting up the inserting machines for runs and making adjustments to the machines if they are not working properly; ensuring that the right inserts are loaded into the newspaper and that a high level of quality is maintained for all products produced; leading a group of employees who operate the machines; instructing employees on the safe operation of the equipment.
