Maders Restaurant restaurant is still solely a family business. Indeed, this is a blessing for Milwaukee's preservation of historical buildings. The walls of Maders Restaurant Restaurant are covered with a variety of sepia-toned pictures that showcase many of the memorable moments from these crucial formative years. One of the earliest walk-through dioramas in the world was made by The Milwaukee Public Museum in 1965, taking visitors back in time to a fall evening at the turn of the 20th century. The Streets of Old Milwaukee is the name of this installation. This exhibition's centerpiece is a full-scale recreation of Charles Mader's original storefront.
