About Leland Lodge
In the very center of Leelanau is the Leland Lodge. The Sleeping Bear Dune National Lakeshore, M-22, wine tours, stunning beaches, and scenic nature hikes are the highlights of the region. Northern Michigan's autumn, winter, and spring seasons are just as charming as the summer months. To ensure that you and yours can enjoy Leelanau throughout all four seasons, the Lodge is open year-round. Since its opening in 1909, the Nicholas Hotel has been a popular destination for lodging, food, and good times. Leland Lodge positive spirit endures even in difficult times; in 1926, it was destroyed by fire and rebuilt the following year. The hotel was renamed "The New Nicholas Hotel" by Grand Rapids resident Josh Fisher. The hotel changed its name to the lodge in 1946.
