Mercruiser parts, founded in 1971, was Mark Berman's first company in the Highlands, Illinois. After successfully working in Highland Park in 1975, Mark accepted a job at Apeco Marina. By 1977, Mark bought the company from Apeco and named it "Marina City Marina." Although the name is a bit redundant, there is nothing more telling than that. Centrally located on the Chicago River in the iconic Marina Bay City Complex, Mercruiser parts is the only privately-owned full-service urban terminal in years. With its unique location, fuel terminal and knowledgeable, dedicated staff, MCM quickly became the location of choice for storage, fuel, service and maintenance in Chicago. In the basement of the twin towers, Bam has a very well-equipped facility. MCM is called a high-performance expert, and the Chicago River is their X Lake.
