Great American Products was co-founded by Roger Tuttle, the current president and CEO. The company began as a mail-order company selling the motorcycle market and later developed into a manufacturer of tin buckles, key chains and miniature models. They began putting metal signs on beverage containers to increase sales to mass retailers, mail order catalogs, and department stores. The company has reached an agreement with several Mexicans to establish a partnership and manufacturing plant near Veracruz. They launched the first wave of vacuum insulated beverage line in 2016. This series has become the flagship product of the entire Great American Products product line, as consumer demand determines the high-quality insulation properties that can keep beverages at the optimum temperature for several hours in a row.
