Goldberry Roasting, which Doug Cooper started as a hobby in his basement in 2010, has the advantage of being able to grow deliberately and slowly over many years. The early years of their business were spent perfecting their craft, building meaningful relationships, and gaining trust in the quality of their brand rather than focusing on sales. Coffee Growing Community is a non-profit organization that they started and continue to be a key ally of since its inception. Pete, Doug's son, joined the family business in 2018, and in October 2019, they opened their first roastery in their hometown of Ashland, Ohio.
