Frog And Bucket is located at the very edge of Manchester City Centre north. It was one of the first to open in what is now a bustling and creative district. While Oasis strolled around the corner at the Dry Bar in the 1990s, the now-famous comedian honed his art at what was then the city's only dedicated comedy club. Frog And Bucket opened his first club on Newton Street in 1994 with a capacity of just 60. Then, a few months after it opened, it too experienced an amateur night. Three years later, the club moved to its current location at the end of Oldham St, in a reinforced building that was once a bank. Three days after the bombing, when they had cordoned off the area near the city center, the club reopened its amateur night, with performances and gamblers pouring in in solidarity.
