Excelerate SPANISH, a homeschooled mother and author, earned a degree in Spanish and literature from North Carolina state university and taught Spanish in public schools for a decade. Her successful experience with total body response (TPR) and total body response storytelling (TPRS) led her to develop a unique dvd-led curriculum to help other home learners benefit from the wonderful brain-friendly approach to foreign language teaching. She also designed and implemented ESL programs, took high school students on educational trips to Spain and Mexico, and introduced classes to the North Carolina foreign language association and the Johnston county second language network. Caryn helps families in home-school communities by offering private and co-op classes, hosting free seminars, and speaking at home-school conferences. Excelerate SPANISH have been home-schooled since 2003 and have already graduated two students.
