About Downata Hot Springs
Located three miles south of Downey are the memories of many people at Donalta Springs. The mention of "Marshall's Springs" brings back many memories for old timers who still remember the owners Will Evans, Isaac Marshall, the Johnson family, the Raymond Horsley family and the Elton Needle family whose chronology is currently one by several owners. Downata Hot Springs hot water emerged from a rock-bottom spring on the south side of the pool and reached a temperature of 109 degrees. It is piped to the pool where cool water is added to make swimming more comfortable. The name Downata Hot Springs comes from the name itself and means in a hot spring. Many years ago Indians and pioneers enjoyed the wonders of nature, and today many guests visit the spa to enjoy the same healing and relaxing powers.
