About County Fair & Rodeo
County Fair & Rodeo and Rodeo has brought their community together since 1957 to help the young people of their wonderful county. Their fair, rodeo, and BBQ Cook-Off have all expanded significantly since then. The Agricultural Division of the Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce started hosting events that were later dubbed "Field Days," which are figuratively a day spent in someone's field. The venue changed throughout time, moving to several nearby farms and ranches where new activities were added. The annual Field Day celebrations started to resemble the County Fair & Rodeo, as it is now called, in the early 1960s. The show and auction had exceeded the new space by 1965, when Candy Cane Park Pavilion had been open for three years. The Cow Palace auction barn east of Conroe was required to host the auction. Even the space near the Cow Palace auction barn had grown insufficient two years later for the Junior Livestock Show, which was rapidly expanding.
