About ParkTavern
The building's original Stone Mountain granite structure was constructed in 1905 as horse stables for racing enthusiasts in the area. In 1928, it was converted into the Men's Club and golf clubhouse. The building was renovated in 1990 and opened as a restaurant and venue for special events. Paul and Angela Smith, the current owners, purchased the building in June 1999 and renamed it ParkTavern. In the Piedmont Room, an upstairs event space with a view of ParkTavern began hosting weddings, corporate events, and private parties in 2001. In order to provide a one-of-a-kind outdoor garden-style venue for weddings, corporate events, and private parties, the Piedmont Garden Tent facility was added in 2004. Today, in addition to numerous corporate and social events, the special events team produces nearly 200 weddings annually.
